Its been a while

I can't believe I've not posted in over a year.
Let's see if I can recap you on the last year at least.
January began with Jim & I moving into our rented place together
Dani came & helped us decorate, which seemed to take way longer than I thought it would.
But eventually we ended up with a mostly decorated sitting room and hall way. We won't talk about the tubs of paint still hidden away in the bathroom cupboard....

I also finally got my Elvis Friday 13th tattoo which I've wanted for a couple of years now. Thanks to Josh at Old Time Tattoo for this :)

Because we'd finally finished decorating this meant we could have a house warming party! Yay!

Theres a good chance we were pretty drunk, but had a bunch of fun with some very dear friends.

I was also in the local paper thanks to Cat because of my style. It was pretty random having my photo taken outside the coop...

We've not had many outtings this year, but this was the first to see Darryl Higham at the camp hill social club. We have to have a bus wanker picture....

It was pretty quiet for a few months, but we managed to get tickets to the Bushcraft show much to Jim's delight, so we thought we best take a hammock out to parkhurst forest & see if I could at least get in to it.
I had visions of getting in & basically just rolling  around before falling out. It's pretty comfy & relaxing actually, although I'd probably prefer it in small doses....

Jim on the other hand loves sleeping in a hammock....

Next my lovely bosses made me this rather splendid Groot cake for my birthday as I was going to be away.
What an awesome cake!
I am Groot!

Jim & got a stupidly early ferry to head up to somewhere near Derby for The bushcraft show. Thankfully we got to go to the OK diner on the way.

Peanut butter milkshake!

After a night in the premier Inn we got to the show & set up camp.
It was an interesting couple of days & I amazed myself by managing to sleep in a hammock for 3 nights. Considering I don't do camping, this was a pretty big deal..

We met some famous folks- Dave Canterbury
And of course Jim's idol, Ray mears

These were our camp buddies for the weekend, Steve & his daughter Charlotte.

And something pretty big happened at the show.
Jim proposed.

I said yes.

June seems forever ago now, but we went to see Jim's adopted Donkey Belle

And of course had an engagement party which ended up drink a bottle of moet on the beach watching the sunrise

My mermaid engagement ring.

We started looking for wedding venues as we decide we wanted to get married this year too.

Jim wowed Matt & Cat with some fire lighting skills in Billy's Quarry.

Dani & I 1940s up for armed forces day.

I randomly went to the car boot with my mom & saw my old uni friend Dan Hughes as he was over doing his what I like to call Goth Morris Dancing...

A few months went by in what can only be described as lightening pace. Turns out planning a wedding sucks the time away like you wouldn't believe...

Jim & I got wedding axe tattoos

Mine is tiny!

I also had a rather lovely and grown up Hen Thingy with my closest gal pals.
Thanks to Kim & Dani for making it look rad for me. It was such a lovely secluded place too...

Some sad news came the next day that Lucy's Mom Maggie had passed away from Cancer.
We will forever miss you.
Cancer really sucks.
I'm sorry Lucy.

After months, well only around 5... Of planning the day was finally here.
Dani & I did our usual Bert & Ernie thing the night before & even had prosecco in the morning.....

We got hitched!!

My best poodle gal Cassie

Handfasting with Julie

The most amazing wedding cake ever!
Thanks to Jade at Sweet Serendipity for this

The our Edinburgh Honeymoon adventure

We ate out body weight in sushi I think....

The Ghost Bus Tour...it was a bit pants

Mingos!

The most important part of the honeymoon was seeing the Pandas at Edinburgh zoo!

I've loved Pandas since I was a kid, so this was pretty incredible to see a real life panda.
He was awesome in the real sense of the word.

We went to the castle

Saw grey friers bobby

Generally we were ruined by Edinburgh.
Ive not done so much walking in a very long time.

The museum of Scotland is a pretty great way to spend a morning. Lots of random but cool things.

The island also had its very first Comicon, so I did Josie & The Pussycats. Well just Josie... Helly didn't want to be a Pussycat.
One of my lovely friends Amy also got married!

Congratulations Mr & Mrs Pickles!

Jim & I decorated our first real Christmas tree together.

Helly ran her first 5K then got 'shitted' ( her words, not mine)

Nahla wore a santa hat

Our bosses took us on a Christmas outing to spinnaker tower, bowling & dinner

We make a great work family :)
Thanks Kim & Russ for another great year

And finally a picture of Nahla trying to steal a bauble.

I hope 2017 has been kind to you all.
If not, we're only days away from a whole new 365 days of adventures.
Make them all count.
Live the best version of yourself.
Don't get tied down with the minor details.

Much love to you all & I might even try & getting better at this blogging thing in 2018.
I've probably missed out a bunch of stuff, but my memory sucks!

Thanks to all of my friends for all their love & support.
You all mean the world to me.
I love you all
